Although it doesn’t feel like it so much right now, we have celebrated the first day of spring last week.  And this week end, not only are we finally going to put our clock backwards 1 hour ( meaning more day light for biking on the Seine bank)  but  we are also going on eggs hunting all around the beautiful city of Paris.

Some of our favorite hotels & venues have prepared fun activities and delicious treats. Before sharing with you our preferred adresses, let’s remember that Easter is a christian celebration that pays tribute to the lord, Jesus Christ. For those who didn’t attend their sunday school, here’s a little recap. Happy Easter !

* What  is Easter for the Christians ?

The word “Easter” doesn’t really  appear in the Bible and no early church celebrations of Christ’s resurrection are even mentioned in any Scripture. Like Christmas, Easter is a tradition that was developed later in church history.

Eastern Orthodox churches observes what they call ‘the great Lent’ during  40 days preceding ‘Palm Sunday’ with a fasting period continuing during the Holy Week.  Because of Easter’s pagan origins, many Christian churches have chosen to refer to the Easter holiday as ‘The Resurrection Day’.

On Easter Sunday, all Christians from around the world celebrate the resurrection of  Jesus Christ. It is one of the most well-attended sunday service of the year for Christian churches, after christmas. According to Scripture, Christians believe that Jesus  Christ came back to life, three days after his death on the cross that everybody know. As part of the Easter season, the death of Jesus Christ by crucifixion is commemorated the Friday just before Easter, known as ‘The Good Friday’. Through his death, burial, and resurrection, Jesus paid the penalty for his sins, thus purchasing for all who believed in him, eternal life in Christ Jesus.
