It was originally a monastery in the 19th Century. Villa Erba was the summer residence of the notorious  film director Luchino Visconti.  At the end of 1900, the Villa Erba was sold to a company specialized in organizing conventions. Over the years, the villa got  embellished with a grand entrance hall and a panoramic tower.  From the main historical building, to the  huge greenhouses and botanical park, it has became the ultimate reference for Lake Como wedding.

Villa Erba’s grand interior, lake access and lush botanical gardens makes for a jaw dropping setting to a luxury wedding. Symbolic wedding ceremonies can be organized outdoors on the lawn by the lakeside. Although the Villa Erba doesn’t offer accommodation on site, there are plenty of hotels around the Lake Como.

Villa Erba is perhaps one of the most well-known villas around the lake, but famous for a good reason. The Hollywood movie ‘Ocean’s Twelve’ was filmed here and not far from the Villa d’Este luxury hotel – another Sumptuous favourite venue in Lake Como. back in 2005, American singer Gwen Stefani shot the music video for her single, “Cool”, on the villa’s grounds makes it not only famous but iconic for all the right reasons.
