Chateau Vaux le Vicomte Wedding - Iconic Castle for Opulent Events

The Chateau de Vaux-le-Vicomte is a masterpiece of the French Formal Garden and a work of unparalleled harmony. Louis XIV hired the same team to build the Château de Versailles. André Le Nôtre, gardener of the King, created in the 17th Century one the first Jardin à la française at Vaux-le-Vicomte castle. The strong lines of the garden design, its changing hidden charms, and the symphony of fountains are what makes it so unique. Fouquet, Louis XIV’s finance minister, commissioned an impressive trio of artists to build his dreams’s castle. It was meant to be the crown jewel of his ambition. Instead, it became an object of jealousy and precipitated Fouquet’s cruel and rapid downfall.  Louis XIV accused him of embezzling vast sums of money and issued an order to put him in jail for the rest of his life!  In 1875, Vaux-le-Vicomte was saved from demolition by Alfred Sommelier, a rich industrial, who devoted his life in restoring the magnificent estate to its former beauty.

Gala dinners, anniversaries, birthdays, proposal can be also be organized in one of the château’s rooms overlooking the  gardens. with its sumptuous décor and lavish furnishings overlooking the formal garden ! Every Saturday night, from May through October, the château and formal gardens are lit by 2,000 candles. A silver and gold fireworks display takes place at night.

When we plan a wedding at Vaux-le-Vicomte, we love to invite the guests to discover all the differents area of the properties like a journey. We keep the decorated grand salon as a surprises until the dinner.  It is possible to  cross the garden with a horse carriage, a Bentley, and even land a helicopter. The garden features two giant arabesque mirrored, where the fireworks reflect in it. Since you are in the middle of the countryside, there is no much sound restrictions which is ideal for those who wish to party all night.
