Villa Gastel  – Lake como Wedding Venue

The Villa gastel was a Benedictine convent, dating back to the 12th century. It has historically been a house of great art and elegance.  Access to Villa Gastel can be possible by car or private boat. The neighboring famous Villa Erba has a private dock for mooring motorboats, and a helipad. Villa Gastel  remained rigorously private and makes an exquisite venue for lake como wedding  and welcome cocktail parties.  In addition to the  yellow stucco main building, there are incredible stables, a rustic amphitheater, and a big  swimming pool. The ground-floor enfilade of formal salons is decorated with neoclassical trompe l’oeil frescoes and antiques. One of the highlights is a white Venetian neo-Gothic dining suite. Still more fascinating are the big vaulted kitchen,  nearly untouched since the days of the convent, where big walls of cupboards hold  arranged bed and table linens.

Villa Gastel, that was once called Villa Nuova, is part of the Iconic Villa Erba  and the oldest building in the Lake como wedding venue. It is the epitome of Italien renaissance luxury. It is now the private residence of the Gastel family, heir of the Erba family, who uses it as a holiday house. Luckily, you can still rent it for your lake Como wedding! The structure has partly maintained the original one of the convent. The interior is rich in decorations, including frescoes, portraits, tapestries, and  collections of objects. Two residences for guests, stables, an amphitheater and a swimming pool, built in early 1900. The Villa Gastel is immersed in a romantique garden that has almost maintained in part the original English style. For all its aesthetic charm, the house also exudes the homey warmth !

Exploring Villa Gastel’s countless bedrooms, it is difficult to fathom that this is just one of a host of the family’s Italian properties. A few miles south is the monumental Villa Olmo, which once belonged to the owner grandparents—a house so huge one servant was employed just to open and close the windows. This hidden gem is a magnificent heritage of the Lake Como Patrimoine and is a perfect setting for luxury Lake Como wedding.
